Hippo Motor Group is happy to announce that we won at The Hive Awards in Blackburn. With Hippo celebrating our tenth year in business, we greatly appreciate the recognition shown by The Hive Blackburn & Darwin Business Awards who awarded us with the Growing Business Award last week.
Hippo was up against some tough opposition from other brilliant businesses such as Gel-Clear, Miltihog, and Watson Ramsbottom. We believe all were worthy winners, but on the night, we are incredibly pleased that Hippo Motor Group were crowned winners.
The black tie ceremony took place on Wednesday (10th May) night at the iconic King George’s Hall in Blackburn. From Hippo, our director, Tom Preston, and wife, Suzanne Preston attended. Joining them was Mark Khan, our general manager, aftersales director, Craig Robinson and other team leaders and staff.
It began with a drinks reception at 6:30 PM, where everyone could socialise and network before moving onto the welcome speeches and dinner from 7:30 PM onwards.
The guests could choose between an edible garden salad with the additions of a trio of Heritage beetroot, pea jelly, pickled shallots, samphire, Yellowstone goats curd and baby ruby chard. Or they could opt for breast of chicken wrapped in parma ham with spring pea, broad beans, and asparagus risotto.
For dessert, they had a real treat. A blackberry mouse mixed with honeycomb, poached apple, apple crisp, blackberry puree, fresh blackberries and baby mint. Safe to say, those of us who couldn’t make it were mouth-wateringly jealous at the sound of the food.
Following that was the awards ceremony where Hippo’s big moment came and the party went on until the early morning. Again, Hippo is incredibly grateful to The Hive Awards for recognising our hard work over the past decade in business.
The Hive Blackburn & Darwen Business Awards are run by the Hive Business Leaders Network. The aim of the annual awards is to celebrate the very best of businesses within the Blackburn and Darwen borough.
Hippo Motor Group were runners-up in the Red Rose Awards for the Retail Business Award out of thousands of other companies who were considered, which is a great achievement. We have entered into the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAS). We are currently going through the consideration process, with the hope of exciting news in the future.
