Hippo Joins Joe’s Jumper Day

This Christmas, everyone at Hippo Motor Group will be getting together and donning their festive woolly jumpers, in support of Joseph Kendrick.  The whole office will be taking part, and we’ll all be bringing in donations to help Joe’s cause.

Joseph Kendrick is a young 5-year-old boy who suffers from NKH (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia).  All the money raised from our Christmas jumper day will go to support Joe and his family, and fund research into finding a cure.  This is all done through their website Joseph’s Goal.  Joseph’s Goal is a charity that has been set up not only with the aim of helping Joe, but to also raise awareness for the rare life-limiting genetic disorder, to find better treatments, and to hopefully one day find a cure.

Joe’s parents, Paul and Emma, have said ”Joe has shown us he wants to fight all the way, and we are determined to fight on his behalf; to help create awareness of this devastating condition, find better treatments for him and other children with NKH, and hopefully find a cure”.

The family and charity are also in support of Dr Johan Van Hove, a world leader in researching the disease, at the University of Colorado.  NKH is a very rare disease that affects 1 in every 60,000 newborns, which means that very little research has been done towards it.  That’s why every penny raised will count, and will make a huge difference.

We’d love it if you could join us, along with many other businesses from around Lancashire, in helping to raise money for Joseph’s Goal.  You can arrange your very own Christmas Jumper Day at your workplace or school, and encourage everyone to bring out their best Christmas jumpers and make a small donation.

If you do take part, make sure to follow Joseph’s Goal on Facebook, and join in by tagging yourself in any photos on Twitter (@JosephsGoal #JoesJumperDay).
