A CV is the first thing Hippo recruitment see of a candidate, therefore, it paints a picture of the applicant and it’s important that this is the best picture you can paint!

- Communication with customers is highly likely at Hippo, the quality of grammar and spelling in your CV is vital – check and double check to avoid errors! You could even get a fresh pair of eyes to check for you.
- Be clear and concise. A CV should be simple and ideally no longer than 2 A4 pages in length. Try and avoid large chunks of text.
- Stand out from the crowd – promote your achievements. Is there anything you have received recognition for? Any statements you can add credibility to through quantifying, will be even more impressive!
- Make sure you include your contact information and social media presence if relevant.

“Preparation and presentation are key for an interview. Dress to impress and ensure you are able to demonstrate that your skills are relevant to the position. An interview gives you the opportunity to sell yourself and to show the company how they can benefit from employing you. Be honest and the most important thing is to always be yourself.”
